I led the design direction for the 2020 One Court theme, crafting a visual identity that spanned social media, out-of-home, and digital touchpoints. The design needed to balance luxury with purpose, creating a seamless atmosphere where business, culture, and relaxation intersected.
From curated gifting suites to private brand experiences, One Court became more than a meeting; it became a fully realized environment shaped by thoughtful visual storytelling, offering players a rare moment of clarity to impact the game, outside the lines for the betterment of future NBA seasons.
At Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas, the NBPA’s 2020 One Court gathering brought players from across every NBA roster together - a moment for leadership, connection, and shaping the future of the game.
During the multi-day event, player representatives met to discuss Union business, collective goals, and new initiatives to further the game on and off the court. Set against a backdrop of luxury and calm, One Court balanced serious vision with a rare opportunity to recharge - creating space for players to lead, build, and imagine what comes next.
Through curated brand experiences and intentional design, the environment reflected the dual spirit of the event: focus and celebration, business and brotherhood.
For One Court 2020, I led the visual direction by drawing inspiration directly from the spirit of the Bahamas - creating a branded environment that blended island relaxation with the luxury and energy players expect.
By using the location itself as the creative foundation, the visual identity fused native indigenous flowers, bold tropical palettes, and custom patterns into a cohesive design system that transformed the property for the weekend. A handwritten typeface layered authenticity into the experience, evoking a personal, human touch across signage, activations, and branded materials.
I was responsible for developing the conceptual direction and key design elements across the space - shaping everything from the main graphic language to the visual integration of brand partnership activations. Every detail was crafted to entertain, engage, and educate players while offering an atmosphere that honored both the vibrancy of the island and the brotherhood of the league.
